On november 5th, 2017, three forward-thinking artists who've made their names pushing the boundaries of "heavy music" — justin broadrick (godflesh, jesu), nothing and dominick fernow (prurient) — joined forces for a one-off collaborative performance to celebrate the 20th anniversary of fernow's record label hospital productions. In the first episode of our exclusive three-part documentary, we join the musicians in a brooklyn practice space for a glimpse at their pre-show rehearsals, during which they reveal how the collaboration came about and the core musical "contradiction" that they all share.
